LoadRunner System

LoadRunner ATLS System

The Ancra LoadRunner System is a fully automated loading and unloading solution designed for shuttle applications over medium distances, where trailer modification is possible—part of our Modified Cargo Space (MCS) strategy.

The LoadRunner enables automated one-shot loading or unloading of an entire trailer load of pallets in just 6 to 8 minutes. Depending on the load configuration, using four or six motorized skates, the system moves full rows of pallets simultaneously, capable of transporting two or three pallets side-by-side.

This high-speed, precision-controlled system is ideal for high-throughput distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and logistics hubs that demand efficiency, safety, and automation—while keeping trailer modification to a minimum.

System Components and Functionality

The LoadRunner consists of two core transport mechanisms:

  • Skates
Each skate is composed of a long, liftable steel fork equipped with rollers. These forks move underneath the pallets, raise them, and slide them into or out of the trailer.
  • Pallet Chains
On each side of a set of skates, robust pallet chains transport goods longitudinally over the LoadRunner system—ensuring smooth flow during both loading and unloading operations.
Modified Cargo Space (MCS) Compatibility

The LoadRunner requires modest trailer modifications to function effectively:

  • A rear-mounted docking frame ensures precise alignment between trailer and dock.
  • U-channels installed in the trailer floor guide the skates into position.
  • Optional: U-channels can be replaced with raisable guides, providing a flat floor when not in use.
  • Optional: For operations exclusively using EURO-pallets (SSL), U-channels may be omitted entirely.

This minimal modification approach means trailers remain versatile for standard use while being compatible with LoadRunner automation.

System Operation Workflow

The LoadRunner system offers intuitive operation and can be controlled manually or via WMS integration.

  1. The LoadRunner is filled with a full (or partial) truckload of pallets via forklift, upstream conveyor system, or WMS-controlled process.
  2. A modified trailer is docked and doors opened.
  3. The system inflates the skates, raising the pallet load.
  4. Once lifted, the entire load is smoothly transferred into the trailer. Before movement, width and optional height sensors verify trailer clearance.
  5. Upon completion, the skates deflate and return to the home position, ready for the next cycle.

The reverse sequence applies for unloading.
